Meet Dr. Bill So
BILL SO, D.D.S.
Dr. Bill So received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M in Biomedical Science in 1997 and his D.D.S. degree from University of Texas Dental Branch Houston in 2001. As a student at UTDB, he held various leadership positions including Class President for all four years. He was very involved in committees such as Senate Research and Faculty Development. As part of Senate Research at UTDB-Houston, he was active in multiple research projects and presented them in the U.S. and Canada. He received the following honors from the dental branch: the Compromised Patient Care Award, Practice Management Award, Public Health Task Force Scholarship, and Student Research Fellowship.
He proudly served the United States of America as part of the U.S. Army Reserve for 12 years. After receiving his D.D.S. in 2001, he joined the U.S. Army, ranked as Captain. He was promoted to Major of the U.S. Army in 2009. While in the USAR (United States Army Reserve), Dr. So served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2008 and 2010. During those 12 years in the USAR, he received notable awards, one of which was the ARCAM (Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal) for exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity and another, the ARCOM (Army Commendation Medal), for meritorious achievement and service.
In addition to his achievements, Dr. So became one of H Texas Magazine's Houston's Top Dentists since 2011 up to this day. He strives for his patients' satisfaction through dental education, quality dental care, and ensuring his patients feel comfortable and at ease for their dental treatment.
He stays up to date in his dental career with continuing education and by being active in several dental organizations including the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Houston Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of General Dentistry. In April 2008, he was initiated as a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Academy of General Dentistry for two consecutive years.
He spends his free time being involved in various community projects as well such as charity and volunteering organizations. Dr. So enjoys playing sports, coaching youth flag football and baseball, and spending time with his wife, three sons, and two dogs.
